Van Buren District Library, located in Van Buren County, Michigan, is a vibrant rural community that is defined by nature trails and the Lake Michigan shoreline.  Serving 45,000 residents, the library seeks its next director to lead and inspire a fifty-five member team at seven locations while promoting value to its residents.  The library is well funded, the staff are dedicated to their community, and the board is eager to welcome its next leader.  With South Haven beach to the West, the City of Kalamazoo to the East, and Chicago 90-minutes to the Southwest, this library leadership opportunity offers a perfect blend of multi-location complexity of services with an intimate small-town feel.  

 Thrive in Southwest Michigan | Van Buren County (60) The Van Buren District Library (VBDL) is a Class V library and a member of the Southwest Michigan Library Cooperative.  VBDL represents an opportunity for either an experienced director or a high potential supervisor who is an accomplished leader in their library community.   

Van Buren District Library is funded through a millage in perpetuity and two additional supplemental millages, providing strong and stable funding with an annual budget of $3.5 million dollars.  The library offers a starting pay rate of $120,000, a retirement program, and a strong benefit and vacation package.
