The Chesterfield Township Library is seeking a Youth Services Librarian who is passionate about fostering a love of learning and a sense of belonging for children, teens, and families in our community. This position has a strong emphasis on serving teens through dynamic programming, meaningful outreach, and collection development tailored to their needs.
In this role, you’ll develop and lead engaging programs for ages 0-17, with a particular focus on creating impactful experiences for teens. You’ll curate an inspiring youth collection, provide expert readers’ advisory and reference services, and connect with the community through outreach and partnerships.
This full-time position offers a salary of $46,761 to $60,021 on an 11-step scale, excellent benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications: A Master’s in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution is preferred, but equivalent professional experience working with youth in a library or educational setting will be considered. A Michigan Level III or higher Librarian Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one) is required.
